ECS Restore

Research collaboration

A practical research framework for sleep and adaptive physiology.

ECS Restore is developing a measurement-first research programme exploring whether repeated home sleep EEG and autonomic physiology can provide useful, non-invasive indicators of adaptive regulatory state.

We are seeking an academic or clinical principal investigator to help shape and lead the first institutional validation study.

Repeated nights

01

Repeated home physiology

Sleep EEG, autonomic signals and wearable context collected across repeated nights.

02

Naturalistic research setting

Participant-led cannabis behaviour is documented, never supplied, assigned or encouraged.

03

Institutional pathway

The eventual study requires academic governance, ethics approval and a publication plan.

Why sleep physiology

Sleep is a repeatable setting for studying network physiology.

Sleep provides a recurring, structured physiological setting in which slow waves, spindles, oscillatory coupling, state transitions and autonomic regulation can be studied longitudinally.

Emerging cannabinoid-oscillation research strengthens the mechanistic rationale for this direction. ECS Restore is investigating whether a carefully defined sleep and autonomic measurement layer can make downstream cannabinoid-relevant physiology more practical to study in humans.

The goal is not to claim that sleep EEG directly measures CB1 receptor status. These are candidate research measures that require rigorous validation.

Proposed pilot

An institutional study designed to test what the signals can actually tell us.

Population

Established adult cannabis users in an appropriate research jurisdiction.

Measurement

Home sleep EEG, autonomic data, wearable context and baseline lipid profiling.

Analysis

Repeated within-person measures, supported by a controlled study design.

Governance

Academic leadership, ethics approval and publication planning before enrolment.

What strong results could enable

01

A validated home-measurement workflow for sleep neurophysiology.

02

Candidate objective measures for cannabinoid-development and recovery research.

03

Better longitudinal research designs for endocannabinoid-related physiology.

04

A foundation for larger academic, device and industry collaborations.

Collaboration opportunity

Help shape the first institutional validation study.

We are looking for a principal investigator or institutional partner who can help refine the research question, lead the ethics pathway, shape the protocol and analysis plan, and co-lead scientific publication.

Relevant expertise

  • •Sleep EEG and neurophysiology
  • •Autonomic physiology and HRV
  • •Cannabinoid and endocannabinoid research
  • •Lipid biology and nutritional neuroscience

We welcome an exploratory conversation about the proposed study. The Academic Collaboration Brief will be available once it is finalised.

Discuss the study

ECS Restore has filed intellectual property relating to its broader measurement and biological-state framework. Collaboration terms will distinguish pre-existing intellectual property from academic publication rights, data access and any new inventions arising from the work.
